Ann Robinson Named Agriscience Student Award Winner
The Agriscience Student Award recognizes FFA students who have excelled
in an agriscience project or activity. The Agriscience Student of the
year will represent Wisconsin at the National FFA Convention. They will
also get a $100 cash award and a trophy for their efforts.
STATE WINNER: Cara Ann Robinson, Manawa
With Cara’s project on Phytoremediation, she tested and proved
that planting trees, shrubs or grasses on a water’s edge can improve
the water quality of a stream over time. Cara based her project off
the problem that nitrates and phosphates are being washed away into
our lakes and streams. Through this experience, Cara has had the opportunity
to educate many community members on this national environmental issue.
Cara plans to attend Northland College and major in Environmental Science
with a minor in Environmental Education.
AWARD SPONSOR: University of Wisconsin-River Falls
Agricultural Education Society & Alpha-Tau-Alpha, and the Wisconsin
