career in agricultural science areas. Wisconsin’s Agriscience
Teacher of the Year is eligible to compete for national recognition
at the National FFA Convention. The winner also receives a $150 check

WINNER: Larry Plapp, Badger
Mr. Plapp teaches a well-rounded program, covering all of the career
pathway programs of study in the agriculture cluster, with 11 different
course offerings. Because Mr. Plapp was one of the first in the area
to implement a biotechnology class, his students were invited to demonstrate
their skills to area legislators, teachers, students and media who were
in attendance for the biotechnology awareness day at Gateway Technical
College. He has been able to increase the Badger FFA membership through
the interest in his Agriscience programs offered.
