| Kaleb Santy to Run for National FFA Officer Position
Wisconsin now has its candidate to run for a National FFA Officer position at the organization's national convention later this year. Kaleb Santy from the Pulaski FFA Chapter has been selected to run for the job, in which he will compete for one of six spots in the country to help run the National FFA Organization and lead youth members for a year.
Santy, who plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-River Falls to major in Agriculture Education, is currently serving as a State FFA Vice President. To help prepare for the interview process, he will be working with ag teachers and others to develop the skills needed to compete for the title. Kaleb will also be making many appearances at local FFA banquets throughout the state this spring.
"I joined the FFA in 8th grade and my first big event was the EDGE Conference," Santy wrote in his State Officer blog page. "The FFA has so many different opportunities and there is something for everyone."
In 2004, Wisconsin's Jackie Mundt was elected as National FFA President--the first time since 1982 that the Badger State had a representative on the national board.
Each state is allowed to send one national officer candidate to the convention.
