Robinson Named State FFA Star in AgriScience
STATE WINNER: Cara
A. Robinson, Manawa
Cara has conducted scientific research and study projects and has participated
in environmental education programs. She works with habitat management
and restoration and volunteers at numerous environmental organizations.
Robinson partnered with local educators and community leaders to demonstrate
how planting trees and shrubs on buffers along streams can decrease
runoff, improve water quality and ultimately impact the dead Zone in
the Golf of Mexico.
Robinson's passion for her environment shows as she assists with health
and safety fairs, agricultural literacy events, and a multitude of service
leading projects. She has monitored e-Coli in a creek to determine levels
of bacterial contaminations.
A member of the Manawa FFA, Cara hopes to obtain an internship with
Sigurd Olsten Environmental Institute to gain field experience in Environmental
Science.
