Cara Robinson Named State FFA Star in AgriScience

STATE WINNER:
Cara A. Robinson, Manawa

Cara has conducted scientific research and study projects and has participated in environmental education programs. She works with habitat management and restoration and volunteers at numerous environmental organizations. Robinson partnered with local educators and community leaders to demonstrate how planting trees and shrubs on buffers along streams can decrease runoff, improve water quality and ultimately impact the dead Zone in the Golf of Mexico.

Robinson's passion for her environment shows as she assists with health and safety fairs, agricultural literacy events, and a multitude of service leading projects. She has monitored e-Coli in a creek to determine levels of bacterial contaminations.

A member of the Manawa FFA, Cara hopes to obtain an internship with Sigurd Olsten Environmental Institute to gain field experience in Environmental Science.
