Brad Laack Named State FFA Star in Agricultural Placement

STATE WINNER: Brad Laack, Plymouth FFA

Brad works for Hillside Dairy Heifers, a custom dairy heifer raising facility; and at Hanke Farm, a 700-cow dairy. He also milks cows on weekends at Nohn Farms, and is the assistant herdsman at Hillside, where he breeds heifers, cares for sick animals and handles feeding livestock.

Laack is in charge of tillage, planting and harvesting the 32-acre FFA Farm Plot and has created and distributed a comparative pamphlet of the results to over 300 Sheboygan County farmers.

With his AI certification, he has bred cattle for several dairy and beef producers. This past summer, he obtained a job from an Oklahoma wheat harvesting company, where he traveled through five states combining wheat.
