American Agri-Women to Hold Fly-in to Washington, D.C. in June

Members of American Agri-Women from across the nation will gather in Washington, D.C. , June 9-12 for the organization's annual Fly-In. Members will present white papers on land use & policy - a special theme for this year - as well as legislative positions statements to elected officials and policymakers.

During the event, AAW will host its 26th annual symposium with the theme, "Federal Land Policies: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." The public event is set for 9-11 a.m., June 10, Department of the Interior, 1849 C Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. Go here to register: www.americanagriwomen.org.

Attendees will meet with EPA officials regarding U.S. Water and Air Quality, the Endangered Species Act, and the Nitrates and Manure Management Program. Each member will present their views on local issues as well to policymakers and their respective legislators. As a highlight to this year's Fly-In, AAW has been invited to the White House to discuss policy with President Donald Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump. Members will also visit the Israeli Embassy.

The AAW President will host a kick-off reception at the Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Ave, starting at 6 p.m. Lombardo will introduce "Cultivating Resiliency," which is AAW's initiative to help people in agriculture cope with stress.

All registered guests and interested individuals involved in agriculture are welcome to attend the reception.

AAW will also host a Congressional Reception on June 11, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Longworth House Office Building, 15 Independence Ave SE, Room 1300, to announce its Champion of Agriculture winners. All legislators and staff are invited to attend.
