Midwest Farmers Get Dry Weather to Wrap Up Harvest
USAgNet - 11/24/2021

A second week of mostly dry conditions allowed harvesting of corn and soybeans to near completion in the Midwest for the week ending Nov. 20 but limited winter wheat establishment in the Plains.

According to today's Weekly Weather and Crop Bulletin from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, even when Midwestern precipitation arrived late in the week, showers were mostly light and confined to the Ohio Valley and lower Great Lakes region.

Across the remainder of the eastern half of the country, significant precipitation was limited to parts of the Northeast and southern sections of Texas and Florida.

Meanwhile, another week of dry weather on the Plains interfered with winter wheat establishment, despite late-season warmth.

Some of the most critical moisture shortages were noted in parts of Montana and across the southern half of the High Plains.
