Republican Ag Committee Assignments Announced

U.S. Senate Republican Leader-Elect Mitch McConnell on Wednesday announced key committee assignments for the 110th Congress. According to the Kentucky Senator, the new leaders will help accomplish an agenda of security, reform and economic growth.

Members of the Senate Ag Committee include new members Lindsey Graham, South Carolina; and John Thune, South Dakota. Re-appointed to the panel are McConnell, along with Saxby Chambliss, Georgia; Richard Lugar, Indiana; Thad Cochran, Mississippi; Pat Roberts, Kansas; Norm Coleman, Minnesota; Mike Crapo, Idaho; and Chuck Grassley, Iowa.

Under Republican Conference rules, Committee selections are subject to ratification by the full Conference. Ranking members are elected by the membership of the committee and ratified by the full Conference.
