ACE On-the-Farm Twilight Meetings Being Held This Week
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/26/2014

The Wisconsin Counties Association, Wisconsin Towns Association and the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin are partnering up once again to sponsor on-farm Agriculture Community Engagement Twilight Meetings this month. The events, conducted in different parts of the state, each include a 60-minute tour of the hosting dairy followed by a relaxed discussion and ice cream. The discussion will provide a platform for open communication about issues important to our communities.

PDPW Director Shelly Mayer says the forums are an open invitation to the state's community leaders, elected officials, conservation officials, dairy and livestock producers and all citizens interested in learning from each other so Wisconsin communities can be vibrant and green.

"On-farm programs like the ACE On-the-Farm Twilight Meetings help agriculture and the residents of local communities better understand each other so we can co-exist and thrive," Mayer says. "Agriculture touches so much of community life--from the economic to the environment to the quality of life."

Each of the meetings begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a guest speaker and question-and-answer time.

The program will be held on the following dates:

** August 26 - Norm-E-Lane, Chili

** August 27 - Sunburst Dairy, Belleville

** August 28 - Sunset Farms, Allenton
