Walworth County Students Earn Farm Tech Scholarships
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/31/2016

Three volunteer students who helped put on Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in Walworth County this summer have been honored with college scholarships.

During the committee's recent volunteer appreciation event, Devon Frederick of Lake Geneva was given $2,000, while Katlyn Decker from Sharon and Casey Burmeister earned $1,000 and $500, respectively.

Each of the recipients were volunteers at the show, held in July at Snudden Farms near Lake Geneva.

Frederick, currently a senior at Badger High School, plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Platteville next year for Biochemistry or Mechanical Engineering. Decker will use her scholarship to attend the UW-Madison or River Falls. And Burmeister, who graduated this past spring from Badger High School, will attend George Williams College of Aurora University where he plans to major in Environmental Science Sustainability.

The support for the scholarships was provided by the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Board of Directors. Members of the board's executive committee served as the evaluators of the applicants.
