Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/16/2019

If you want to sharpen your cow-side skills, be sure to attend one of the Herdsperson Training seminars this fall presented by the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin.

Designed for herd managers, nutritionists and veterinarians, the one-day courses will cover topics like techniques when considering oral calcium treatments for transition cows, feed-inventory strategies following a tough growing season, animal-welfare protocols, and break-out sessions involving udder dissections.

Speakers include Drs. Laura Hernandez, DVM, of UW-Madison, Mike Hutjens of University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and Marcia Endres, DVM, of University of Minnesota.

Registration begins at 8:45 a.m., with training at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 3:30 p.m.

The programs will be held October 30 in Arlington and again October 31 in Marshfield.

The program costs $125 for PDPW members, and $250 for non-members. Additional participants can register for $75 per person.
