New Sponsor to Award $7,000 to World Dairy Expo Champions
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/28/2008

It always pays to stand in the winner's circle, but at this year's World Dairy Expo the stakes have just been raised for the owner of the Grand Champion Female in each of the seven breed open shows. Udder Comfort will present the exhibitor of each breed champion with a $1,000 check.

Udder Comfort, based in Ontario, Canada, produces lotions that enhance udder quality. The company has distributors throughout the United States, Mexico, France and in North and South Africa.

"From the farm to the show-ring, quality milk and quality udders are our business," says the company's marketing director, Mark Comfort. "Over the years we have enjoyed presenting in our advertising the stories and accomplishments of the dairymen, breeders and exhibitors, who turn to Udder Comfort as the champion of lotions for udder quality. Our sponsorship of the 2008 World Dairy Expo Grand Champion Cash Awards is both a gesture of appreciation and a celebration of dairy breed excellence."

Also, World Dairy Expo has announced that the border is open and Canadian cattle will once again be competing on the colored shavings for the first time since the border closed in 2003. Judging will begin on September 30 with the Central National Ayrshire Show, followed by the Central National Jersey Show. The Grand Champion Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Holstein, Milking Shorthorn and Red & White will be selected during their individual shows, during the next four days.

Over 2,500 head of the world's finest dairy cattle are expected at the show.
