Enrollment Deadline for UW-Madison Farm & Industry Short Course is October 1

The application deadline is October 1 for the University of Wisconsin-Madison's 2008-09 Farm & Industry Short Course. Short course is a program of college courses in fields related to production agriculture. The program offers more than 40 courses for one and two-year certificates in addition to specialty programs in dairy farm management, pasture-based dairying, crops and soils, meat animals, farm mechanics, farm service and supply, and horticulture/green industry.

FISC provides hands-on instruction by the same faculty who teach four-year curriculum for the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.

Short course consists of two six- week sessions, a three-week session, and two one-week sessions offered over a 17-week time period from November to mid-March. A student can earn up to 15 credits toward a four-year degree in agriculture by completing short course.

Students with an interest in obtaining scholarships should submit all application materials as soon as possible.
