Animal Science Expert to Speak at UW-River Falls

One of the most respected experts on humane animal handling will deliver a lecture on the subject at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls next week. Temple Grandin's presentation, titled 'The World Needs all Kinds of Minds,' will be held September 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Riverview Ballroom.

Grandin is a professor of animal science at Colorado State University.

The event is sponsored in part by the Oscar Mayer/Kraft Foods Faculty Scholar of Livestock Welfare and Behavior Award.

Tickets are for sale at the Information Desk in the University Center on campus and may be purchased in person or over the phone at 715-425-3911. Admission is $5 for UW-RF students, faculty and staff. The general public is invited to attend for $10.00.

Proceeds from the lecture will benefit the UW-RF Alpha Zeta Fraternity, the UWRF Livestock Welfare and Behavior Laboratory.
