Spud Bowl to Again Feature 5K Race
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/22/2017

The 31sth annual Spud Bowl football game at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will be bringing back its 5K race to the list of activities this year. The Spud Run will be held prior to the game on September 23 at Community Stadium in Goerke Park.

Organizers say the race is open to everyone, with medals and prizes being awarded to the top three finishers in each age and gender category. Baked potatoes and French fries will be served to all participants.

The Spud Bowl football game marks the home opener for the Pointer football team as UWSP takes on Adrian College. Through the years over $100,000 has been awarded in Spud Bowl scholarships to over 100 students.

The cost to enter the Spud Run is $20 and includes a game ticket, t-shirt and complimentary potato products. The run will start at 2:00 p.m. on the track at Goerke Park.
