DBA Endorses Van Hollen for Attorney General
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/24/2010

The Board of Directors of the Dairy Business Association has made another endorsement in the upcoming general election. The farm organization is supporting Republican incumbent J.B. Van Hollen as Wisconsin's Attorney General.

DBA President Jerry Meissner says Van Hollen has the background and experience needed to maintain the high quality of law enforcement this office has been recognized for under his leadership.

"Van Hollen has served our justice system as a public defender, district attorney and was appointed to the post of US Attorney in 2002," Meissner said. "J.B. is known for being a highly professional person working to keep our families safe."

The DBA says Van Hollen has established a strong record of prosecutions including heading up the largest narcotics case in state history. Under his leadership, his office has recovered close to $30 Million dollars in Medicaid fraud cases. It also applied for and received a half-million dollar grant to use for solving cold case files.

Van Hollen is being challenged by former State DNR Secretary Scott Hassett, who is running as a Democrat.
