WI Fair Association Holding Another 'Fair Story' Contest
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/28/2016

The Wisconsin Association of Fairs is once again looking for the best fair stories. After a successful first run this past year, the group will hold its second annual contest where the best fair stories in each of the state's four districts will earn a cash prize of $50.00. The top summary overall will also receive $250 and a plaque.

WAF Director Jayme Buttke says entries can range from something that happened in the past or a memory from this past year.

"Every year millions of people attend county, district or state fairs and tell their friends about the great time they had," Buttke said. "The future of fairs is very important in our counties, as well as in our state, but we also must promote the history of our fairs to the general public."

The stories should be between 200-400 words and include the name of the Wisconsin fair you are referring to. The winners will be announced at the annual Wisconsin Association of Fairs Convention in Wisconsin Dells this January.

Entries are due by October 1. For more information, call 715-536-0246 or go to: www.wifairs.com.
