Last Chance to Sign-up for PDPW's Texas Dairy Tour
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/29/2014

The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin is organizing a trip to the Lone Star State to visit farm operations in the so-called 'milk shed,' which is the third largest milk-producing area in the country. This region, where the Southern Plains meets the desert, is the milk production capital of Texas. Between 2000 and 2012, the region saw a nearly tenfold increase in the number of dairy cows.

The November 4-5 tour will make stops at Hilmar Cheese Company, Avi-Lanche Jersey Ranch, Del Rio Dairy, High Plains Dairy, and Dairy Fountain.

Registration fees cover the group's evening reception, tour transportation, all tours plus breakfast, lunch and dinner both tour days. Registrants are responsible for their hotel accommodations and transportation to and from Amarillo, Texas.

The PDPW Texas Dairy Tour is an accredited training program with the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and veterinarians may receive up to 22.5 CEUs for both days. The program has also been pre-approved by ARPAS for up to 8 CEUs for both days.
