WAEC to be Called 'Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center'
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/03/2017
Developers of the proposed Wisconsin Agricultural Education Center in Manitowoc County have come up with a new name and logo for the state-of-the-art facility. The WAEC board of directors announced this week that the venture will now be known as
Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center.
"This new identity honors our heritage as America's Dairyland and welcomes visitors to explore the incredible world of agriculture." said WAEC Board President Julie Maurer. "We could not be more excited for the day when the Farm Wisconsin Discovery
Center becomes a household name like other notable Wisconsin destinations like, Lambeau Field, House on the Rock or the Harley-Davidson Museum."
The center will serve as an educational resource for people who want to learn about the origins of their food. It will also include a discovery center that features hands-on learning opportunities and technology used to feed people around the world.
Construction on the project began earlier this year with a tentative grand opening being planned for the spring of 2018.
Meanwhile, organizers say fundraising efforts for the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center is about seven-percent away from its $13 million goal.
