Other Commodity Prices Were Down in Wisconsin

The August 2016 average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin was $3.12 per bushel, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report. This was down 40-cents from the July price and 55-cents below August 2015.

Soybeans averaged $9.84 per bushel, down 46-cents from July, but 27-cents above the previous August.

The oat price was $1.47 per bushel, 22-cents lower for the month and 32-cents below last year.

All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $70.00 per ton in August, unchanged from July, but $30.00 lower than August 2015. The alfalfa hay price averaged $79.00 per ton, down $1.00 from the previous month and $32.00 below last year. The other hay price averaged $46.00, also unchanged from July, but $8.00 lower than August 2015.
