PDPW Farm Tours Head to Fond du Lac County
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/11/2019

A daylong chartered bus tour hosted by the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin will showcase feeding strategies at two successful dairies in Fond du Lac County.

The PDPW Dairy Feed Management, Storage, and Tracking Tours will be held October 24. The bus departs the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Fond du Lac at 9:30 a.m.

Attendees will tour the innovative and tailor-made feed storage area at Vir-Clar Farms, where the Boyke families use a TMR Tracker software system to manage feed inventory and monitor feed costs. At Second Look Holsteins near Eden, the Hodorff families will share their experience of feeding a consistent ration year-round when using only corn silage and Western dry hay as forages.

The lunch roundtable discussion will feature insights from Corey Hodorff, Grant Grinstead, and Andy Skwor of MSA Professional Services.

"The tour is a great opportunity for producers to see firsthand what type of feed management practices are helping producers remain cost-effective in today’s economic market," said PDPW Director Shelly Mayer. "Hearing from consultants and farmers themselves may spark new ideas to add value to your own feeding program."

Space is limited to the first 40 registrations and includes bus travel, refreshments and lunch. For more information or to register, go to: www.pdpw.org or call 800-947-7379.
