Manure Spill Response Field Meeting Planned Near Gilman
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/28/2012

If a major manure spill or mishap were to occur on your farm, would you know how to respond? Experts will share their knowledge on how to react to such an event by holding a field day next month in central Wisconsin.

The Taylor County University of Wisconsin-Extension office and Land Conservation Department are teaming up to held the training program on October 4 at the Jeff & Karen Fiedler Farm near Gilman.

Conservation experts will talk about issues like preserving rural roads, calibrating your manure spreader, understanding setbacks and what to do when the manure spills on your property.

While there, attendees will see an actual manure spill and how it should be cleaned up to leave the least amount of environmental damage.

The field day will be held rain or shine. For more information about the field day, call 715-748-3327.
