MilkSource Cows Top WDE Dairy Shows
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/05/2015

The 2015 World Dairy Expo was an event to remember for MilkSource Genetics of Kaukauna. Their cow, 'Lovhill Goldwyn Katrysha,' was awarded the honor of Supreme Champion on Saturday. The six-year old Holstein topped the aged class, was Senior and Grand Champion Female, and Best Udder in the International Holstein Show. Last year, she was named the winning Five-Year-Old Cow at Expo.

As Supreme Champion, Katrysha's owners receive the Gregory Blaska Memorial Trophy, a $1,500 cash award, a royal blanket, and a director's chair. The Reserve Supreme Champion also hailed from Wisconsin. 'Musqic Iatola Martha-ET,' exhibited by Shelby Ostrom of Kaukauna, was named first Four-Year-Old and Best Udder, along with Senior and Grand Champion Female at the International Jersey Show.

Another MilkSource cow was named the International Futurity Grand Champion. She was 'Rokey-Benfar R Cutie-Red-ET,' who was also named Intermediate Champion Female of the International Red & White Show.

Also last week, the Walker Family of Wisconsin Dells was selected by the Klussendorf Association as the seventh recipient of the Robert 'Whitey' McKown Master Breeder Award. This award recognizes a well-managed breeder herd that has been successful at showing and judging, and emphasizes all qualities of the Klussendorf Award, including ability, character, endeavor and sportsmanship.

World Dairy Expo officials are expected to announce total attendance numbers later today.
