Class III Milk Price Announced at $16.36

The USDA announced that the September Class III milk price was released at $16.36 per hundredweight. That's down 21-cents from August's price and three-cents lower than September 2016.
So far, the Class III price has averaged $16.12 this year.
The Class IV component price was 75-cents less than last month's price at $15.86, but was $1.61 higher than September of last year.
Meanwhile, the USDA reported that Wisconsin farmers received an average price of $18.20 per cwt. for their milk in August. That was $1.10 than the previous month and 20-cents more than last year's price.
The U.S. milk price for August was $18.00 per cwt.
