WPS Urges Customers To Apply For Energy Assistance
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/07/2015

With the heating season upon us, Wisconsin Public Service is reminding qualified low-income customers to apply for help to pay their utility bills. The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program administers the federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

The agency encourages elderly, disabled customers and others meeting the income guidelines to call 866-432-8947, or select the "Where to Apply" tab on www.homeenergyplus.wi.gov to find your local energy assistance agency. The program runs through May 15, 2016.

WHEAP provides assistance for heating costs, electric costs, and energy crisis situations. This program will help to pay a portion of home energy bills for income-eligible customers.

The program and its related services help about 225,000 Wisconsin households annually.
