Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/09/2015

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau has chosen a new district coordinator to represent southwestern Wisconsin. Melissa Doyle replaces Gretchen Kamps, who was recently promoted as WFBF's Agriculture in the Classroom Coordinator and WFB Foundation Director.

In her new role, Doyle will be responsible for working with county Farm Bureaus to develop and implement programs to serve Farm Bureau members and to coordinate membership recruitment and retention efforts.

"I'm looking forward to working with Farm Bureau and assisting the counties in District 3 to create and implement new programs that will help in achieving their goals," Doyle said. "I'm proud to represent an organization that takes great pride in its rural roots, and am excited to help build effective networks and relationships with Farm Bureau members and partners."

Melissa will serve Farm Bureau's District 3, which includes the counties of, Crawford, Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland and Vernon. She will begin her duties on October 26.

Doyle grew up on a farm near Mineral Point in Iowa County and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural and applied economics and life sciences communication. She also has a master's degree in life sciences communication.

Before joining Farm Bureau, she served as a UW-Madison teaching assistant and a 4-H program advisor for Iowa County UW-Extension. Most recently, she has worked as a farm outreach coordinator at UW-Platteville's Pioneer Farm and also serves as marketing and communications manager for her family's auction business.
