Legge Named Executive Director of WLIC
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/17/2017

The Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium has a new leader. The group's board of directors has hired Jodi Legge as executive director, where she will lead WLIC in the strategic planning and management of Wisconsin's premise ID registrations and animal tracking programs.

Legge most recently served as the director for March of Dimes in Wisconsin. She also worked for 20 years in various non-profit and corporate entities, including serving for three years as a marketing director for the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C. Jodi holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management Studies from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

In her new capacity, Legge will be responsible for developing innovative initiatives and cultivating relationships with industry stakeholders and producers to promote the value and importance of identification and traceability. She will also oversee the responsibilities of WLIC management and work closely with DATCP and state veterinarians to ensure a quick response to disease outbreaks.

"We are excited to have Jodi take on this role to serve Wisconsin's agriculture industry and to build upon this established information system that protects animal health," said WLIC Board President Keith York. "Her skills in communication, marketing and organizational management will prove to be invaluable as WLIC works to strengthen its connections with industry partners and increase our programming."

The consortium was founded 15 years ago to create a secure livestock identification system to protect animal health and market access, and to offer opportunities that enhance the marketability of Wisconsin livestock products. Legge replaced outgoing director Patrick Fitzgibbons, who recently retired.
