Sargento Announces Expansion Plans for Hilbert Plant

Sargento Foods says it is planning a major expansion project for its food plant in Hilbert. The company announced it will add a 60,000 square foot addition to the facility to keep up with production growth and customer demand.
The news also means Sargento will be hiring nearly 140 new employees at the plant, which will double its current workforce.
Sargento makes several different cheese varieties, as well as products for retail, food service and ingredients at the facility. The company has other plants in Plymouth and Kiel.
Company officials say construction will begin soon, with the expansion expected to be completed in about a year.
