NASS Cheese Survey Prices Lower

Prices are heading back down on the National Ag Statistics Service's Weekly Cheddar Cheese Survey on Friday. The price of 40 pound blocks for Minnesota-Wisconsin averaged $1.96, down a penny from last week's price, while 500 pound barrels were nine cents lower at $1.96. The price of U.S. 40-pound blocks were down fractionally at $1.92 for the week ending October 11. The barrels were at $1.91, about a penny lower than last week.

Butter prices were up a penny as the price for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.70 per pound for the week.

Nonfat Dry Milk prices were four cents lower for the week at $1.02 per pound for USDA Extra Grade standards.

And for 'other states,' blocks were down slightly at $1.91, and the barrels were at $2.02, which was up two cents compared to the previous week.
