WMMB Continues to Sponsor Bike Tour of America's Dairyland
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/01/2010
Midwest Cycling Series has announced that the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board will return as the presenting sponsor of the Tour of America's Dairyland race in 2011. The pro-am bicycling series will travel
through 11 Wisconsin communities from June 16-26.
"Tour of America's Dairyland is a healthy lifestyle event which benefits the family-owned Wisconsin dairy farms, cyclists of all abilities, and the entire state of Wisconsin," says WMMB Advertising Vice
President Dave Bavlnka. "I am proud to announce that Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board is coming back for the third year."
During the 2010 race, over $100,000 in cash and primes were paid out to racers of multiple categories, which included the addition of the Women's 3/4 category and the Oarsman Capital Best Amateur
jersey for men and women. That's up from $85,000 during its inaugural year in 2009.
Meanwhile, organizers say local volunteers are needed to host some of the professional cyclists. This unique opportunity offers people a chance to get to know the country's top riders and get a peek behind
the scenes of the professional racing lifestyle.
For more information about the series, call the WMMB offices in Madison at 608-836-8820.
