Marathon County Extension Agent, Mike Wildeck, to Retire
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/24/2011

The dairy agent at the University of Wisconsin-Extension in Marathon County, who also served as executive secretary for the 2011 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days show, will be retiring this fall.

Mike Wildeck is stepping down from his post on November 2 after a 30 year stint.

The 55-year-old Wildeck says Marathon County has been a great place to work as an Extension agent because of the area's diverse agricultural industry.

The county once lead the state in total number of dairy herds. It is also one of the world's leading ginseng producers.

Wildeck also headed up the 1996 Wisconsin Farm Progress Days, which was also held in Marathon County near Marathon that year.
