Chippewa County to Host 2024 Farm Technology Days

The state's largest outdoor farm show will return to west central Wisconsin in three years. The Wisconsin Farm Technology Days' board of directors has accepted Chippewa County's application to hold the annual event in 2024 after local supervisors adopted a resolution last week supporting the show.
Organizers say they will soon begin the process of selecting a host farm and nailing down the dates of the exposition, which will likely occur in August because Rock Fest and Country Fest are already planned in the area for July of that year.
Charlie Walker of the Chippewa Development Corporation says he expects visitors from all over the Midwest to travel to the show because of the rapid innovations going on in the agricultural industry.
Last summer, nearby Eau Claire County had one of the largest FTD shows in recent years, with attendance estimated at more than 52,000 people.
Chippewa County last held the show in September 2004 at Hilger Farms near Bloomer. It also hosted the event in June 1968, then called Farm Progress Days, which many remember as the show of 'mud and rain.'
Meanwhile, Clark County continues to prepare for the task of hosting next year's show, slated for July 12-14, 2022 at Roehl Acres and Rustic Occasions near Loyal. The Badger Steam and Gas Engine Club will be the host in July 2023, located between
Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells.
Farm Technology Days is run by a group comprised of representatives of state and federal agencies involved in agriculture and natural resources, the University of Wisconsin, and the agribusiness-industry and farming sectors.
