WCMA Holding More Supervisor Trainings in 2019
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/09/2018

The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association will once again hold its popular Front-Line Supervisor Trainings early next year. The program is designed to develop industry talent and to help members retain their most valued employees.

Coordinators say registration is now open for the classes, which will be offered in partnership with Madison College.

"Teaching supervisors 'soft skills' has a huge impact on employee retention rates," said WCMA Education and Policy Director Rebekah Sweeney. "With the right training, these front-line leaders have the power to reduce conflict, increase positive communication, and foster a greater sense of belonging in a workplace."

Trainings that focus on leadership essentials, including decision making and problem solving, will be held February 12 in Madison. Front-Line Supervisor Training-Part B, which explores the impact of emotional intelligence, coaching, and performance feedback, is slated for March 12 in Madison. And WCMA will offer Front-Line Supervisor Training-Part C, focused on personal productivity and managing workplace stress, at Chippewa Valley Technical College's Gateway Campus in Eau Claire on March 26 and in Madison on April 9.

Tuition costs $129 per participant for courses hosted in Madison, and $159 for those offered in other locations. Materials, instruction, and meals are included.
