WATA to Hold Farm Safety & Marketing Education Event
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/30/2014

The Wisconsin Agriculture Tourism Association will be hosting a Farm Safety & Marketing Education Day next month in Saukville. The November 12 forum will be held at the Riveredge Nature Center from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.

Organizers say the sessions will discuss the new Limited Liability Law, which was signed into law earlier this year.

Attendees will hear from Marsha Salzwedel, Agricultural Youth Safety Specialist for the National Children's Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety in Marshfield. She will discuss the types of activities typically found on Agri-Tourism farms and discuss associated safety issues.

WATA President Steve Peterson and Rep. Lee Nerison, chair of the Assembly Ag Committee, will explain the making of the law and what it means to all ag-tourism destinations in the state.

And Lois Federman, a marketing specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, will cover the aspects of the 'Something Special from Wisconsin,' which was founded over 30 years ago to assist Wisconsin companies with their branding efforts.

Admission is free to the event. For more information or to reserve a seat, call 608-343-0201.
