Nielsen Named Director of Babcock Institute

The Babcock Institute for International Dairy Research and Development has a new director. Karen Nielsen, who is an institutional leader in international dairy research, development and education, has accepted the position.

The Babcock Institute provides university-level expertise and personalized training programs to transform emerging dairy industries and to strengthen the U.S. dairy industry.

"Karen's years of experience in the international dairy industry will assure the Institute's growth in education and research while fostering important international relationships for the United States in emerging world dairy markets," said Molly Jahn, Dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Babcock Institute provides training opportunities to dairy industries around the globe. It designs and implements research and customized training programs for international leaders, educators, and dairy producers, drawing upon the depth and breadth of expertise in Wisconsin's dairy industry.
