Madison Women's Expo to Feature Soyfood Demonstrations
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/02/2012

The state's largest women's expo will be offering attendees a chance to treat themselves to a tasty demonstration on soyfoods.

Held November 17-18 at the Alliant Energy Center, the Madison Women's Expo will feature Linda Funk of Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board and The Soyfoods Council at the Culinary Stage.

Funk will offer tips and prepare recipes such as Edamame and Corn Salad, Tofu Caesar Salad Dressing and Holiday Apricot Oatmeal Soy Cookies. Her presentations will be held at 11:00 a.m. each day.

Soyfoods, such as edamame, tofu, soymilk, soy nuts and other versatile ingredients like Textured Vegetable Protein offer flavor, texture, nutrition and health benefits. For centuries, soyfoods have played an important role in Asian cuisines and in recent years they have also become popular in American cuisine.

Experts also say soyfoods are cholesterol-free, excellent sources of high-quality protein, and they offer a healthy mix of polyunsaturated fat.
