Two Dairies Receive Commerce Loans for Expansion

Two dairy producers have received $164,000 in loans from the Wisconsin Department of Commerce to increase milk production. Schuh View Dairy of Kaukauna has received a $100,000 loan from the Milk Volume Production program to purchase 400 cows in connection with an expansion. The dairy is investing an additional $1.8 million in the expansion, which will include the construction of an eight-row freestall barn with self-contained manure pit. The project will create six jobs.

And Lyndell Dairy of Lyndon Station in Juneau County received a $64,000 loan from the Rural Economic Development Program to purchase 256 cows in connection with an expansion. The dairy is investing an additional $585,000 in the expansion, which will include the construction of a four-row, freestall barn. The project will create five jobs.

All Wisconsin dairy producers, both existing and start-up, are eligible to apply for the MVP Program. Awards are made on a competitive basis. The RED Program, administered by Commerce, helps small rural businesses start-up and expand their operations.
