Kewaunee Co. Farm Tech Days Shares Profits with Local Groups
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/14/2017

Organizers of the 2017 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days held last summer in Kewaunee County say they have recently dispersed the profits of its show to many of the groups that made their event possible. During a special gathering of Food Tent volunteer groups, just over $100,000 was divided up amongst 20 local non-profit organizations that sent workers to serve food at the exposition in July at Ebert Enterprises near Algoma.

Executive Committee Chair Amber Hewett says over 26,000 visitors attended the show and purchased over 12,500 burgers, 3,600 brats and over a thousand chicken wraps during the three days. The warm weather also led to the sale of more than 5,800 ice cream purchases.

Hewlett says the show's success is attributed to committed community leaders, who helped plan, source local food vendors and ultimately executed coordination of food service during the show and invoice management after it closed.

Meanwhile, the show's local executive committee is also coordinating plans for dispersal of some additional funds, which will likely go toward student scholarships. A more formal announcement will be made early next year.
