Tauchen Re-Appointed Chair of Assembly Ag Committee
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/21/2020

A Bonduel lawmaker will continue to serve as chairman of the Assembly Agriculture Committee during the next legislative session. Rep. Gary Tauchen, who's been a member of the panel since 2011, was first elected as its leader two years ago.

Tauchen milks 900 cows on a dairy farm he runs with his three brothers in Shawano County. He is also a longtime member of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau and has served on a long list of advisory committees on the local, state and national levels representing agriculture. And he is involved in the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium, the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin and the Dairy Business Association.

Meanwhile, Speaker Robin Voss also named Rep. Joel Kitchens as chair of the Environment Committee; Rep. Mike Kuglitsch was chosen as the leader of the Energy & Utilities Committee; and Rep. Nancy VanderMeer will chair of the Rural Development Committee.

The next legislative session begins on January 4.
