'Alice' Cuts First Christmas Tree of the Season
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/16/2017

Wisconsin's 70th Alice in Dairyland helped kick-off the holiday season this week during a visit to Adams County. Crystal Siemers-Peterman cut down the state's first official Christmas tree of the year during a ceremony near Friendship on Wednesday. The event took place at Twin Creeks Nursery and Ginter's Tree Farm.

The choose and cut operation is owned by Bill and Karen Miller, who welcomed local fifth grade students and FFA members from the Adams-Friendship Area School district.

The area will also be the site of next year's Alice in Dairyland finals, which is being held in Adams County in May 2018.

This marks the 18th year the annual first cutting was held by the reigning Alice in Dairyland.
