WFU to Present Workshop on Local Climate Change, Biofuels

The Wisconsin Farmers Union, Mid-State Technical College, Great Lakes Energy Consulting and the Consortium for Education in Renewable Energy Technology are teaming up to sponsor an innovative workshop on 'Sustainable Biofuels and Local Climate Change Solutions' next month in central Wisconsin. The forum is slated for December 4 at Mid-State's Wisconsin Rapids campus.

This collaborative seminar is designed to educate grain and livestock farmers, agriculture professionals, government officials and policy makers, educators and biofuels enthusiasts about how to make and use biofuels in today's changing global climate.

Featured presenters include Sue Beitlich, WFU President; Jamie Derr, Great Lakes Energy Consulting; Maria Redmond, Wisconsin Office of Energy Independence; Dr. Kenneth Walz and Paul Morchauser, Madison Area Technical College; Luke Mathews, Prairie Fire Biofuels Co-op; and Dr. Farhat Iqbal, Slilca Solar, LLC.

The cost to attend this workshop for non-WFU members is $45. The cost for students is $25. Non-WFU members and students who join WFU will receive a $5 discount off their registration fee. WFU members may register for $15. All prices include lunch.

Pre-register by November 28 and receive an additional early bird discount of $5 per registration.
