Viroqua FFA Alumni Donates $6,000 for Grain Bin Rescue Device
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/17/2017
With farming ranked as one of the most dangerous industries in the country, farmers and employees in western Wisconsin will now be safer due to the generosity of the Viroqua FFA Alumni. The organization has donated a Grain Bin Rescue Device valued at
$6,000, which includes training costs.
The device is used if a farm worker becomes entrapped in a grain bin. The Viroqua Fire Department as well as firefighters from Ontario, Stoddard and Yuba were in attendance for the recent training at the Viroqua Fire Department by the National Education
Center for Agricultural Safety located in Peosta, Iowa.
FFA Alumni members raised the funds through a recent fundraiser.
