FSA Issues 2009 Planning Prices For Farm Loan Business Planning
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/11/2008

Every year, the Farm Service Agency in each state establishes price guidelines to be used by producers when developing farm business plans for FSA direct farm loan assistance. The Wisconsin 2009 commodity planning prices have been issued.

Producers who have proven, accurate records to support a premium or a discounted price for a commodity and/or contracts with well established markets will be allowed to use these higher or lower prices. Regional or county unit prices may be used when there are transportation costs or other factors, which cause a difference in commodity prices. Prices for commodities not published will be established by county offices.

Meanwhile, lenders are provided additional latitude in utilizing price forecasts for business plans prepared for guaranteed loan assistance. Lenders must use price forecasts that are reasonable and defensible.
