UW-Extension to Hold Dairy Technology Workshop

The University of Wisconsin-Extension is putting together a one-day seminar called 'What's New With Dairy Facilities. The event will be held December 13 in Green Bay for farms of all sizes to hear about some new ways to save energy, labor and time on their operations.

Scott Sanford, Senior Outreach Specialist at UW-Madison, will talk about tips for saving energy on the farm and new lighting options for agricultural buildings. Dr. Paul Fricke, UW-Madison/UW-Extension Reproductive Specialist, will discuss research assessing several new technologies that hold potential to improve reproduction in dairy cattle.

After lunch, Dr. Doug Reinemann, UW-Madison/UW-Extension Milking Systems Specialist, will share some research and observations on some newer milking systems that are available. The day will wrap up with Dairy Modern Systems, headquartered out of Kaukauna, sharing photos and examples of technologies they have implemented on farms in northeast Wisconsin.

The cost of this program is $20, which includes lunch and materials.
