Whitewater Man Charged with Stalking Fairest of the Fair
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/16/2007
A 58-year-old Whitewater man has been charged with stalking a 20-year-old East Troy woman who represents the state's county fairs.
According to the Associated Press, Joseph Schraeder reportedly asked Wisconsin's Fairest of the Fair Sheri Nelson to be his "first lady" in June at the Walworth County
Dairy Breakfast. He also told her that he was planning their wedding for a year later.
The complaint also stated that Schraeder 'vehemently' volunteered to be in a milk-chugging competition that Nelson coordinated, and later followed her down the street
when she was in a parade in Mukwonago.
Schraeder was arrested last week for his actions.
Court records indicate that he has a prior conviction for violating a restraining order and harassment.
