Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/06/2018

An eight-year-old child from the Amish community is dead after the horse-drawn cart they were riding in was struck by a vehicle.

According to the Clark County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened just before 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the town of Fremont.

Reports say four children were riding in the cart along the side of a county highway when it was struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old girl. All four children were thrown from the buggy.

Two of the children, ages 6 and 10, are said to have sustained life-threatening injuries, while a 13-year-old was treated for minor injuries.

Authorities have decided not to release the names of the victims because of their ages.
