Wisconsin Ag Outlook Forum Slated for January 25
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/27/2017

Agricultural economists and commodity specialists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW-Extension will talk about the financial health of Wisconsin agriculture and the outlook for the year to come at the 11th annual Wisconsin Agricultural Economic Outlook forum in Madison this winter. The event will be held January 25, which coincides with the release of the 2018 edition of the 'Status of Wisconsin Agriculture' report by the UW-Madison Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics.

The program takes place from at Varsity Hall III at Union South at the UW-Madison campus from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The forum will cover an overview of Wisconsin's farm economy, including the current situation and price outlooks for dairy, corn and soybeans, as well as farm income and input costs.

After lunch, attendees will hear a keynote presentation by UW-Madison political scientist Katherine Cramer, author of the book The Politics of Resentment. That will be followed by an afternoon session on how Wisconsin agribusinesses affect the rural-urban divide.

The event is open to the public and costs $20.00 to attend, which includes lunch. To register for the Wisconsin Agricultural Economic Outlook forum, call 608-262-9485.
