Public Invited to Next Dairy Task Force 2.0 Meeting
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 12/07/2018

Leaders of the newly created Wisconsin Dairy Task Force 2.0 are opening the doors of their next meeting to the public to hear their ideas on improving the state's dairy industry. Chairman Dr. Mark Stephenson, who is a dairy policy expert with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, says the group will meet December 13 at UW-Oshkosh at 10:00 a.m.

The nine task force sub-committees, which have been meeting during the months of October and November, will report on their work at the meeting. The group may consider taking action on some of the recommendations that sub-committees have forwarded for consideration.

"I am pleased with the progress of the sub-committees and the ideas coming forth," said State Agriculture Secretary Sheila Harsdorf. "I appreciate all of the time and effort that Task Force members are putting in, and look forward to hearing their reports on the 13th."

The public is welcome to attend and provide comments, but remarks must be submitted in advance.

The task force was commissioned earlier this summer by Gov. Scott Walker. It's moddled after a similar group in 1985 comprised of individuals including dairy farmers, milk processors and allied organizations.
