Class III Milk Price Swings Back Up to $16.76

The USDA announced that the November Class III milk price was released at $16.76 per hundredweight. That's up $1.94 from October's price and $1.46 above November 2015.

The Class III price has averaged $14.64 so far this year.

Class IV component price was 10-cents more than last month's price at $13.76, but was $1.76 less than November of last year.

Meanwhile, the USDA reported that Wisconsin farmers received an average price of $17.00 per hundredweight for their milk in October--about 90-cents lower than both last month and last October's price. The U.S. milk price for October was $16.60 per cwt, 40 cents lower than Wisconsin's price and 70 cents lower than September's U.S. price. All of the 23 major milk producing states had a decrease in price from September.
