PDPW to Hold Business Transition Workshops

Dairy producers who have built a successful business can learn how to transition that enterprise to a new generation of management and ownership during a series of upcoming conferences, being held by the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin. The Business Transition Workshops will be held in three different locations naround the state next month.

The purpose of the program is to learn how to develop a strategy to navigate the process of transferring ownership and management of the family business to the next generation.

Presenters will include Dr. Deb Houden, who will cover the communications aspect of transitions in "Circling the Minds" where you learn how to get the conversation started and how to manage the discussions and set personalities aside. And George Twohig will cover the business side of the process, such as the in "Ins and Outs of the Transition Structure", where you discover how to create a succession plan that addresses everyone's needs while limiting income and estate taxes while looking at real-world farm transition examples.

The workshops will be held December 2 in Eau Claire; December 3 in Green Bay; and December 4 in Madison.

The cost of the meeting is $125 for PDPW members and $175 for non-members.
